Congratulations to our Winners!
1st Prize
"Lunar
Flare"
Daniel Lewis
England, UK

|
I took this photo while on
holiday in the Mediterranean. Somehow some light reflected on the lens
causing a lens flare, which is unusual, I think, when photographing the
moon. The photograph was taken on a digital SLR.
I've been taking photos most
of my life, although I've never really been in the professional ranks. I
enjoy it and hope to publish some of my best works someday. |
2nd Prize
"A Splash
Of Lime"
Paul A. Takamoto
California, USA

|
I became interested in
photography very early when I was about 17 years old. I first learned with
analog shooting basic subjects in black and white and learning the whole
darkroom process. I eventually found digital to be more exciting and
jumped into it a couple years later. This was about the time I started
experimenting with my digital SLR to find out more about the capabilities
of my camera and digital photography in general. One of these experiments
was when I wanted to use water as my subject or theme. This was adapted
from when I saw some other work with fruit and water combinations and
realized how interesting it looked—and now this is my own rendition. |
3rd Prize
"Monsoon"
Mai Nguyen
Thailand, SE ASIA

|
I not really professional but
like the photography. This photo of tropical monsoon storm near beach
where I live. I thought it look unusual. It was colour, but everything
look gray from the rain. |
4th Prize
"Zen"
Zoltan Bolagh
Hungary, EUROPE

|
This place is the biggest lake
in Central Europe, Lake Balaton. It is the main tourist destination of
Hungary. I liked to show this lake from another, more abstract face so I
used optical filters to catch the moment. It was a cold winter day with
snow clouds and the wind was hard. I shot this lake a lot and I' like to
show this place from another approach with the effect.
My name is Balogh Zoltán. I
was born in 1979 in Baja, Hungary. I live at Budapest already today, in
the capital, here started to interest taking photos 3 years before. I am
an amateur photographer, I developed autodidact on a manner my abilities.
My interest circle moves on a wide scale. Travel pictures, still lives,
deeper, documentarian character photos can be found between my works, than
the landscapes. My determined purpose is that work as professional
photographer in the future. |
